Malota Christmas Light Extravaganza - The Malota Winter Wonderland is made up of almost 100,000 lights. But its not just lights, it's all of the moving displays and features that continue to draw visitors to Fayetteville every year about this time. The Malotas want people to do more than just drive by the Christmas Lights display. Spectators are encouraged to park and walk through the wonderland. Anytime the lights are on, people are welcome. But on special nights and special times, Santa and Mrs. Claus also make an appearance to hand out goody bags to kids and adults alike. This year those dates and times are 6-9 pm Dec 2, 8, 15, 16, 22, and 23 and 7:30-9:30 pm Dec 9.

"No Hope for Heaven, No Fear of Hell" - On December 10th, author Jim Kearney, a third generation rancher and University of Texas professor living in Columbus, Texas will present his talk "No Hope for Heaven, No Fear of Hell" about the Townsend - Stafford Feud of Colorado County. The title is the epitaph that appears on the tombstone of one of the feud's participants.
This talk will be the fifth of a series of presentations given this year in the ARTS' SPECTRUM Lecture Series
Dr. Kearney will speak on Sunday, December 10th,
at 4 pm in the ARTS building on the square in Fayetteville (114 N. Live Oak).
All are invited to attend; this is a free will donation event to benefit the children's programs of Arts for Rural Texas. Refreshments will be served. This is a fascinating element of the history of this part of Texas! For a reserved seat please RSVP to 979-378-2113
